Freya is at rest

We lost our fourteen year old kitty Freya to renal failure last night. She was diagnosed with it a while ago, so we had her on the K/D diet food. Unfortunately, last Tuesday she was not looking good, so we took her in for blood work. It came back real bad. So, we started giving her subcutaneous fluids every day at home. On Sunday, it didn't seem to be helping anymore. Yesterday, she could not walk or open her eyes all the way, and in general, was really out of it, so we had no choice but to euthanize her.

She's a Cornish Rex , which are very thin and Siamese looking. And she had a very distinctful and loud voice that could be hear upstairs even when the TV was on.

We had her for four years, her previous owners had to give her up because they had a baby, and at that point Freya started urinating outside the box. She was on the coast, so they actually bought her an airline ticket to fly her to us.

Heres a video of her drinking from the sink.

I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how hard that was for you. She was lucky to have such a loving home and kitty parents who always kept her best interests at heart. Take care and take heart that she'll be waiting for you on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
